The secret ingredient you MUST add to your smoothies


One of my morning rituals after my workout is to drink a green post workout smoothie.

I drink it before eating or sometimes instead of food, if i feel full.

With this smoothie I know I’m covered for the day with all the fabulous nutrients my body needs.

I love trying new combos but if to be honest there are some ingredients that will forever stay my go to and a part of my smoothies.

Banana for example would always have a favorite place in my heart. I just love the texture it gives to the smoothie.

Spinach will also always find its way into my smoothies. Don’t laugh, but it really reminds me of Popeye each time I eat it 😉

Recently I started adding peppermint (!!) to my smoothies, and OMG! It’s amazing!

Peppermint in the morning smoothie will make you immediately smile, I promise 🙂 That’s what happened to me. It really adds freshness and vitality to everything.

Other than that peppermint is actually a wonderful herb. Here are some of the health benefits of peppermint:

  • Colds and fever
  • Flu
  • Diarrhea
  • Arthritis
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Irritable bowel syndrome

♥ Important to know ♥
Using peppermint is not recommended to: children, pregnant and nursing women, people with heartburn, people with obstruction of bile ducts, gallbladder inflammation, gallstones, liver problems, stomach acid deficiency.

My refreshing smoothie recipe:

1 frozen banana

2 celery sticks

½ cucumber

1 green apple

Handful spinach

5 leaves of peppermint

It is definitely my favorite! Enjoy!
